Mark Lightfoot, has been promoted from Finance Director to Group Chief Financial Officer.


Mark said, ‘2018 is my 10th year with Chess and in that time Chess has continually evolved to become a Unified Technology and Telecoms Group of Companies. Chess is unrecognisable to the business I joined 10 years ago and yet the award-winning culture underpinning it all remains the same. I have also evolved from the Financial Controller that joined a team of three people, and I feel tremendously privileged to have played my part in the Chess journey.’


Kate Wood has been made Group Culture Director.


Kate said, ‘I am just so proud to be promoted to Culture Director. This is recognition for all our Cultural Leaders, past and present, who have created our unique culture. A big thank you to David Pollock, he forced me way out of my comfort zone, he made me courageous and I have never looked back.’


Gavin Wood assumes the role of Group CyberSecurity Director.


Gavin joined Chess CyberSecurity in August 2016 as the Technical Manager running a team of security consultants and managed services engineers.


He has been a key figure in growing the Managed Services Team in response to expanding business demands, doubling the divisions’ customer base.


On his new role, Gavin said, ‘This move will enable me to continue my focus of pushing Chess CyberSecurity’s technical excellence and offerings forward, while at the same time maintaining the company’s group-wide security position.’


Andy O'Connor has been promoted to Commercial Director, from his previous role of Head of Commercial.


Tamar Waite has become Technical Services Director ECB, having formerly held the position of Head of Technical Operations.


Emma Stott moves up from Head of Customer Service to Customer Services Director, ECB.


Emma joined the Chess Family in 2006 as part of the Customer Service Team, delivering quality service and putting customers at the heart of everything she does. She guides her people to deliver exceptional service and support and immerses herself into raising standards and improving processes to get it right first time for our customers. 


Emma says, ‘I’m passionate about making Chess a great place to be a customer. I’m always looking at ways to make customers’ experience even better.’
