1. Describe your Chess journey?

I started my Chess career five years ago as the Wholesale Business Development Manager – South. After the acquisition of Avenir Telecom in 2014 I was promoted into the National Sales Manager role, leading our Wholesale, Dealer and Billing sales teams. In 2016, I moved out of Sales into Acquisitions which was a great experience that I am still involved in. In September 2018 I returned to Chess Partner as the Head of Partner Sales.

 

  1. What is your main expertise?

My focus is Channel Sales, although, during my career, I have been fortunate enough to work in a number of different business areas. This gives me a unique appreciation of the overall business processes and the impact ill-thought-out decisions can have.

 

  1. In your opinion, what is the best thing about working at Chess Partner?

The growth opportunity and the people.

 

  1. Who inspires you?

Kate Wood. I just love Kate - she is an inspiration to so many people and not only at Chess as I have seen first-hand.  She is driving change at Chess to achieve our ‘A great place to work, A great place to be a customer’ strategy and is now sharing this with other businesses.

 

  1. Is there something in the telecom industry that people often have problems with that you would like to fix?

Partners not getting enough support. The key to our success is being the best at supporting our Partners.

 

  1. What is the best piece of professional advice you’ve ever received?

It’s OK to fail, but it’s not OK to give up.

 

  1. What are you passionate about?

The Channel, Women in Tech and my Family.

 

  1. What is the most exciting thing you are working on at the moment?

The Channel Partner Growth Strategy. Chess is always growing, and the recent acquisition of TMS bolstered our Channel offering. We have some exciting times ahead of us within Chess Partner, and I am looking forward to working with more of our Partners across the different product offerings.

 

  1. What is the most helpful way for you to get feedback?

The best way would be by filling our surveys. We use this feedback to work on our strategy to ensure we are a great place to be a Partner.

 

  1. What do you enjoy doing when you are not at work?

I like going shopping, reading and spending time with my kids.
